20th Thing

Books 2.0
I love books! I don't think that will ever change. I love the smell of the ink on paper and the feel of the pages turning. I will never give up the "real thing", but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy some of the electronic components to books. I subscribed to DailyLit and was able to get Jane Eyre for free. It was easy to sign up and I look forward to my little snippets of the book in the email form. I also added a LibraryTrails widget to my blog (look at the very bottom). The trail I am on is Intelligent Chick Lit. A coworker introduced me to the "books" application for Facebook and I have added that. She added it to our library's page. It will be interesting to see if our students make comments about the books that are listed. I think this would be a great application for online classes if it could be incorporated into the course software. I was also informed about the Paperback Swap by the same coworker. It seems like a good idea especially maybe for a cash-strapped student. I can see how many of these items can be incorporated into a library supporting the print resources and not replacing them.
