23rd thing

Survey and Wrap-up

I can't believe that I am done! I feel a great sense of accomplishment but also a little sadness. I looked forward to the new challenges that were presented to us and learning new things. This makes me acutely aware that I need to continue on the Library 2.0 quest. I have enjoyed reading the other blogs and hope that many will continue posting to them.

22nd Thing

Staying Current
Now that I have been exposed to the 23 Things, I think that keeping up with new library trends will be easier. I will still receive my RSS feeds and I hope to keep up with the blogging. I think that one of the best ways to keep up with library 2.0 tools is to keep participating with programs and seminars like this. Out of all of the trainings, seminars, and continuing education programs I have participated with, this has been the most hands-on and practical. It has also been loads of fun!

21st Thing

Student 2.0 Tools

I really like the Assignment Calculator because it is easy, quick, and can include email reminders. I think this could really help students who have more than one project going. I could see this being used for high school students as well. I would like to include a link to this site on my LIS 2004 page so that they could use this tool for their class project. The RPC seems more in depth and has some interesting tools. I think if students looked at the grading rubric is could help them evaluate their own work before submitting it. The Teacher Guide has many helpful handout for instructors and students. I like the idea of all of the graphic organizers which can be very helpful for visual learners like myself. I also was impressed with the video production handouts. More and more students are needing to do production and multimedia projects. I can definitely see how these tools could be incorporated into our library if only to provide a link to the resources. Hmmm....I wonder if the calculators can be used for home projects as well???? :)
